Classes Available for Students

  • FRENCH
    ELEMENTARY (grades 4,5,6)

Students will be introduced to the concepts of another language. Lessons
will include games, songs, and basics of oral communication. The
emphasis will be on oral skills and vocabulary will be animals, family,
    colors, etc.

    TEENS (grades 7 — 12)
Students will develop competence in reading and writing French through
the Bob Jones French text and work book. This text centers around a
missionary family in France and includes Bible memory work. Classroom
conversation (and video skits for French II) will develop oral skills.
Classes will meet weekly and there will be homework assignments and
    tests.

  • HISTORY (grades 7-12)
Students may participate in one-semester units of a designated history
era. Suggestions include: Creation to Greece, Greece & Rome, Middle
Ages, Renaissance, Reformation, Colonial America, America's Federal
Period (American Government), American Expansion, Oklahoma History,
Modern World History, or A Providential View of America's History
(survey class of God's plan and direction of the USA.) The students
will build a notebook on the topic from lectures, reading assignments,
maps, and individual study and reports.

  • SPEECH (grades 7-12)
Developing poise and confidence in speaking is a vital element in
preparing our children to fulfill the Great Commission. The text is The
Public Speaking Handbook by Susan Benjamin. This book is well suited to
home-school groups. While it eliminates the busy work assignments of
most speech texts, it covers the basic components of good communication
    and varied types of speeches.

  • LITERATURE
Studying a book is different (and slower) than reading a book. It
involves discussing and analyzing the content from a Godly perspective.
Students will develop a notebook which contains information on the
author, historical background, and notes on the literary elements for
    each chapter.
